Welcome Spring! |
| Posted by Adriana Soler (adriana) on Mar 30 2011 |
Our infant toddler room was a roaring....enjoying exploring dinosaurs and the signs of spring. This month we welcomed a new teacher, Sue. We are so excited to have her as part of our team. The children are going to learn about community workers this coming month and may have a surprise visit from a fire truck! Its such a fantastic thing to see them all starting to really enjoy each other and creating such strong bonds with not only their teachers but their friends!
In Room 1, we had a great time learning about the farm! The children really embraced and could relate to the farm, as we went on several community walks to the farms next door- chickens and cows and horses, there was a lot of excitement! This month coming up, we will be taking farm one step deeper, to planting, gardening, harvesting and nutrition!
Room 2, had a sad good bye to one of our staff Keelyn. We wish her all the best as she continues her educational journey on the mainland! We will miss her. The children in room 2, also enjoyed learning about the farm and the animals and will continue to explore this concept with gardening!
Its the planting season, and once again we will be preparing our garden boxes to be planted with a special plants. WE ARE ASKING FOR DONATIONS OF CARROT, RADISH, TOMATO AND GREEN BEAN SEEDS/PLANTS!-Also if anyone has spare soil...it would be nice to mix with our soil.
After school care are eagerly getting back into the swing of things, after the March break and all the hard work, and play learning about all the different continents! Did you know that Australia is the only country that is also a continent? They do! They will continue learning about the different continents and the myths behind them!
