What's New? >>

   Welcome to another great month!

June is upon us with summer around the corner, though you couldn’t tell from our rainy weather!! Hopefully, June will bring some much wanted (and needed!!) sunshine so that we can spend more time outside with the kids, getting vitamin D and less time hiding from raindrops!

As we say goodbye to Evelyn, our practicum student in room 1, we’d like to introduce and welcome our new practicum student, Ami, in room 2! Feel free to introduce yourself as Ami gets to know our families and program!

Reminders

-Please phone before 9:30 am if your child will be late or away.

-Please provide plenty of healthy food for lunches and snacks. Please see the staff in your room if you’d like some healthy ideas for snacks!

-Fees are due on the first of each month.

-Please keep in mind that the school and hallways are closed after 3:30 pm and before 8:25 am. Only use the appointed doors. This is to ensure the security of the school, and so as to not interrupt the school staff that are working down there. When the school is closed, the hallways are closed.

-Please ensure that if your child is wearing sandals, that they are to be closed-toed only.

Open toed sandals are not allowed.

-We ask that the children always have a spare change of weather appropriate clothes on hand. Kids do get dirty, they do get wet and we unfortunately cannot provide clothing for them.

-Please provide a hat, sunscreen with a current expiry date, and a water bottle to keep here that is not #7 plastic. Hopefully if the sun comes back, we can use them!! J

Summer hours

As of July 1st, Parkside Academy programs will be returning to our summer hours as we do every year. This means that our rooms will be opening at 8 am and closing at 5:30 pm, however it may vary from room to room. Please check with the staff in your child’s room to confirm the changes, and/or to discuss any concerns that you may have.

One last note about Fees and Subsidy

We require that fees be paid before drop off on the first of each month. We can no longer be responsible for ensuring that each families’ subsidy is up to date, so we have now asked that those using subsidy be responsible for your child’s subsidy information. If subsidy expires and it has not been renewed, the full amount of fees will be due before drop off. See Adriana if you have any concerns or questions re: your child’s subsidy expiry date, etc.

THEMES!

In the Infant Toddler room will be exploring the wonders of the ocean and space this month.

In Room 1 the children will be discovering the fun of Nursery Rhymes and then Roaring into some dinosaur fun!

In room 2 they will be focusing on the 7 continents more with the insects of the world and then moving to some dramatic fairy tales from around the world.

After School Care, will continue on with their theme of Maps and mapping. Its been quite the discovery!
